Sails and Rigging

The bespoke sails were made by One Sails in the summer of 2015 and consist of a Headsail, Staysail and Main.

All are cross cut panel layout, woven polyster. The headsail and staysail have polyester sunguard fitted to leech and foot (matching the sprayhood for those who care about these things!). The main has 3 reefing points, the last of which is effectively a stormsail.

We also have the original staysail and main on board as backup spares.

All standing rigging (6mm Stainless Steel) was replaced by Fox’s Marina of Ipswich as part of the 2015 refit. We have installed hardwood steps for the inner starboard shrouds which have proved invaluable for reef-spotting on our travels, but could easily be removed.

Sheets and main/headsail halyards were all replaced 2015, as were the roller reefing units (Z-spars).thumb_IMG_5446_1024

Primary winches are Lewmar 50 self-tailing, with Lewmar 44 for the secondary.
